Data Modeler

Job Description: - Work with business analysts and business users in capturing the business requirements and rules and translate the business requirements into information/data requirements by designing the logical models and translating the logical data models into physical data models - Create and Maintain documentation of data models, including relationships and constraints and business rules - Conduct logical data model reviews with business to validate the data model and data requirements - Conduct physical data model/database design with development/technical team to review and determine the impact of changes to be made to the physical database in terms of performance and scalability. - Handles hands on ETL development/reports development for projects assigned - Conduct research and build prototypes of both existing and emerging data warehousing Technologies

REQUIREMENTS - University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar IT degrees - 2+ years experience in medium-large IT software development projects, focusing web-based and database intensive applications/data warehousing - Knowledgeable in data modeling and dimensional modeling - Excellent database management system fundamentals and knowledge of SQL 2000 / 2005 and related technologies - Knowledge in data quality processes to analyze, cleanse, and enhance source system data for population in the operational data store and data marts/ data warehouse is an advantage - Experience in designing, developing and implementing Data warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions and designing overall DW infrastructure capacity planning and scaling is a plus - Experience with BI platforms such as Business Objects, Cognos, SAS is an advantage. - Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and customer service attitude - Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Business Intelligence Developer certification is an advantage.
