On July 1, version 8.7 of the VSAPI scanning engine for file virus scans will reach its EOS (end of support) date.
If you are using one of the following products, and your software complies with the following conditions, we would like you to update the scanning engine manually.
For home users:
Please use the automatic update feature for your software. All required data will then be re-written and, if necessary, re-installed.
Worry-Free user version 5.0 or older:
If you have changed the default setting "Update Automatically" during installation (or later), please check during a manual update whether the option for updating the scanning engine has been enabled. You can also re-enable automatic update of the scanning engine with the scheduled scan.
For OfficeScan 8.0 or older, ServerProtect for Windows 5.x:
If you have disabled automatic updates during installation (or later), please download the current engine from here and install the current version. Alternatively, you can update the scanning engine manually. Please check whether the update option for the scanning engine is enabled. Alternatively, you can re-enable automatic update of the scanning engine with the scheduled scan.
Please note that this EOS announcement only applies to the Windows-based Endpoint clients listed above. Customers using Trend Micro’s other Gateway, Messaging, and Network Security products and solutions are unaffected.
